The Grand Bridal Showcase

May 23rd, 2013

Last weekend we welcomed brides from all over to our Bridal Showcase at the Grand Ballroom. The ballroom was glamorously inspired by the old speakeasies of the roaring 20′s, with casino tables, exotic foods, and even Groucho Marx in a classic “talkie” on the big screen! Brides and grooms and their families got to meet a variety of our preferred partners and taste exquisite foods after braving the storms to get to Legacy Lodge. Overall it was a magnificent event, and we can’t wait to host another! Check out our pictures below:

The cupcakes by The Baking Grounds Bakery were DIVINE.

Also by The Baking Grounds Bakery, our photographer may have been a bit overwhelmed by the amazing smells emanating from this table…

Can we tear ourselves away from this table now??

Contemporary Weddings by A Big To Do Events had very elegant styles.

La Petite Fleur put together this amazing display!

Daniel Stancil Photography does remarkable work!

Randi Scroggs helps the inner beauty of every bride shine through on their special day.

Flowers by Holland was a popular stop for our brides-to-be.

Many brand new fiancees checked out these amazing dresses and tuxes!

At the Tasting, there was plenty of fresh fruits, vegetables, and cheeses with a variety of dipping sauces.

Our bartender mixed mimosas and mint julips all night!

There were stations for every genre of food!

Or guests could stop by the carving station for a slice of succulent pork with a blackberry glaze or orange-mango mayonnaise.

All the while placing bets with our special $100 bills to win amazing gifts and prizes!

Our grand prize was an incredible $1,000 off the bride’s wedding package plus special gifts from our vendors!

It was a super fun time when guests discovered the Photo Booth!

The ballroom was literally decorated to the ceiling!

Overall it was an amazing night, and we were so happy and excited to share it with all of you!

Weekend Weddings!

May 21st, 2013

You guys, even though the weather this weekend was subpar, we still had an amazing time hosting 6 weddings! We’re spotlighting two of those weddings today on our blog for your enjoyment and inspiration.

First, Janice and Jon took the plunge this weekend at PineIsle Pointe, one of our most popular venues. The reception was completely adorbs, and with all the unique picture frames and mason jars it looked like a Pinterest dream-wedding come true! To the pictures, Batman!!

The Bride was stunning, in a beautiful lacy dress with elegant blue shoes:

And let us say that when the father of the bride walked her down the aisle, something happened with our camera lens and for some reason it was blurry and we couldn’t see through it, but the picture came out great. Must have been the eye-piece or something…

Congratulations to Janice and Jon, and may all your years together be filled with love and happiness, and now our monitor is getting blurry too… What is the deal with technology these days?? … …

Ok, now that we’ve got the blurry-screen-thing under control, may we present our second spotlighted wedding: Emily and Chris, who tied the knot at the Venetian Pier!

This bride and her father were equally adorable:

And when they made their way down the pier, we couldn’t help but sigh with picturesque charm of it all.

After a beautiful ceremony, the happy newlyweds took a spin in a gorgeous decked out boat before meeting their guests at the Carriage House.

We’re wishing Emily and Chris all the best in their new life together!

Spotlight on the Carriage… Oooooh!

May 14th, 2013

This weekend we saw Nani and Yirga tie the knot and ride away in a romantic horse-drawn carriage! Is your heart melting yet? Because ours is already in a puddle on the floor. What bride doesn’t want to be like Cinderella (post- helpless servant girl, but pre- midnight switcheroo, of course) and ride around in a gorgeous carriage with her handsome and steadfast groom? Ours may not have been transformed from a pumpkin, but we can easily guarantee it won’t turn into one when the day is through. And, BONUS, our coachman isn’t a horse, and our horses aren’t mice!

So there you are, planning the most beautiful wedding that’s ever been planned in the history of mankind, and you’re reading this blog thinking “How can I get a piece of that sweet horse and carriage action?!” We are here to serve, people!

You can coordinate this through Something Blue and one of our extremely talented wedding event specialists, or you can start at the very beginning with this form and just keep the carriage in mind as you navigate the wedding-planning waters.

Here are the basics: The horse and carriage start at a base $350 for one hour, plus $25 per fifteen minutes extra. You can have your floral designer deck it out in all the prettiest garlands and ribbons, and take pictures with you and your groom in and around the carriage. You can arrive at the ceremony by carriage, you can exeunt left by carriage, and/or you can ride around and wave at your adoring crowd like Princess Kate. Our stable master is friendly and professional, and Tobias (pictured above) is the most charming horse in the barn!

Weekend Weddings!

May 9th, 2013

This weekend we’re excited to announce three more weddings here at Lake Lanier Islands! Congratulations go out to Ewunet and Yirga, Shelby and Daniel, and Stacie and Cardaelius! We’re so happy for you all!

Nani and Yirga will be exchanging heartfelt I-do’s at Legacy Pointe this Saturday.

Look how beautiful they are!

Legacy Pointe

Assuming there’s no rain this Saturday, Ewunet and Yirga will ride away in Lake Lanier’s own horse-drawn carriage, all decked in white and looking so pretty! It’s one of those fairytale features that little girls sigh over and dream of having at their own wedding someday. Of all the ways newlyweds can bid adieu after their ceremony, you just can’t get much more romantic than this:

Our horse and carriage team

Our next wedding this weekend is going to hosted at one of our favorite venues: PineIsle Pointe. Shelby Griffin and Daniel Roberts will tie the knot under our beautiful arbor by the lake.

Shelby and Daniel!

The weather might be a little touch-and-go this weekend – there’s a chance of rain and thunderstorms. But we’re counting on a nice day to really make this wedding special! Never worry, though, we’re always prepared with a backup plan if the clouds start tearing up out of overwhelming happiness for these two!

Finally, we’re thrilled to be hosting Stacie Clark and Cardealius Strand at Monarch and the PineIsle Center for their big day and reception!

Here’s the happy couple!

The Monarch room is going to be so pretty, but we can hardly wait for the lovely bride to enter and everybody will be looking at her and they won’t even know the room hasflowersinitSHEWILLBESOBEAUTIFUL!!! (Inhaling now.) It’s going to be amazing!! After the lucky groom kisses the blushing bride, they’ll head over to PineIsle Center for a reception to remember. They’ll dance, we’ll sigh, and then they’ll dance some more, and at this point we’re probably reaching for our napkins to wipe our happy tears away (we’re not ashamed!).

We’re wishing all three couples the very best in their new lives together!!

Venue Spotlight: Venetian Pier

May 7th, 2013

Have you ever thought about getting married right on the water? Sure, there are beach weddings, and we even have some of the most beautiful settings beside the water, but the Venetian Pier at Lake Lanier Islands offers panoramic views from right on the actual lake.

The view from the Pier

Draped in white and surrounded on all sides by the tranquil waters of Lanier, this one-of-a-kind venue provides a setting that is truly unparalleled. As the bride descends the boardwalk onto the Pier, it will be a moment that everyone in attendance will remember for years to come.

Imagine walking down this beautiful boardwalk

The amazing thing is, every moment of every day is a beautiful setting. Sunrise over the lake? Gorgeous. Sunny afternoon? How lovely! Sunset with the love of your life? Perfect! And seeing the moon and stars reflected off the water is just about the most magical setting we can think of.

Sunset and dancing

The Pier can host your entire event, from rehearsal to ceremony to reception, and accomodate up to 175 guests. You could even dock one of our Yachts right here and float away on a reception cruise right after the ceremony! Can you imagine anything more romantic?! We can’t. And neither could Laura, who took advantage of one of the most picturesque and heart-melting venues we offer:

“It was like a dream location, sitting on a pier under cloud-like tents, in a private section of the lake. It was just idyllic.” -Laura Birney

All decorated!

Weekend Weddings!

May 2nd, 2013

We have TWO weddings happening this weekend, and we are so pumped! Pumped like our Reeboks during a basketball game after school on the blacktop in the early 90′s. Google it. That’s how pumped we are.

First we have Aaron Nance and Amy Lucas getting married at Legacy Pointe. The weather may be nudging the happy couple to switch to an indoor venue, but we are confident if it goes that way, it’ll be smooth as the silky sails on a sailboat. Well, smoother than that actually, because we’re not at all clear on what sailboat sails actually feel like. Are they canvas? Are they nylon? Let’s hope they’re silky. Silky like the smooth transition to the indoor venue that Aaron and Amy might have to experience. And here’s the happy couple now!

Aren’t they just a fantastic looking couple?

Congratulations, you two!! May you have a lifetime of happiness!

Next up is AJ Hix and Anna Heimberger, who will be saying their vows on the lake at Venetian Pier. The pier is under a giant pavilion, but the odds are that AJ and Anna will likely want to move their venue as well. That lousy rain! But you know what they say: No rain, no rainbows! So this is us hoping the biggest, most beautiful rainbow that ever graced the sky above our lake majestically appears at just the exact moment for AJ and Anna. And this is us fervently wishing that their new life together will be as spectacularly amazing as all the rainbows in the world, TIMES 100!

These guys! These guys look so fun!

Way to go, you guys!! May love for each other follow you through all your days!

Vendor Spotlight: Y.E.S.

April 30th, 2013

This weekend one of our preferred partners held a gorgeous corporate event at our own Pine Isle Pointe. True to their mantra of designing one-of-a-kind creations, Your Event Solutions (YES) decked out the Pine Isle Pointe Pavilion with beautiful flowers, candles, and vintage lanterns. YES has made a reputation for itself focusing on the simple details and turning every event into a Pinterest user’s dream. A moss-covered shutter as a table top? Yes please! Trimmed topiary to designate table numbers? Adorbs. Cornhole on the green? Hand over the bean bags!

If this is a corporate event for YES’s own, can you imagine what your wedding will look like? These people have 17 years of experience making every bride’s vision a reality! But YES doesn’t just do weddings; they run the planning spectrum for every kind of event! Check out their List O’ Things They Do:

Weekend Weddings!

April 26th, 2013

It’s a busy weekend here at the Islands, and we are so pumped to welcome three sets of couples getting hitched this weekend! After a round of final rehearsals and dinners at our charming restaurants on Friday, Saturday is going to kick off with the Boehman/Cooper Wedding at Legacy Pointe.

It’s just so pretty!

Legacy Pointe is one of our gorgeous outdoor venues, with a striking wooden arbor, and a scenic backdrop of the Lake. After the lawn ceremony, the newlyweds will greet their family and friends under the tent at the Legacy Pointe Pavilion for dancing, cake, and unadulterated joy.

Doesn’t this look amazing?

Also on Saturday, Pine Isle Pointe will play host to the Paulen/Hauser wedding. Pine Isle offers another stunning view of the Lake, and has it’s own unique wooden arbor so the lovely bride and fetching groom can get married under the canopy of the clouds, or in this case, the spotlight of the setting sun.

Isn’t that arbor just idyllic?

When Sunday morning rolls around, Lake Lanier Islands will bid adieu to the Boehmans and Coopers and Paulens and Hausers and all their family and friends with a farewell brunch at the Resort.

In the evening Pine Isle will be reset by our wonderful and incredibly efficient staff (Hi, guys!) for its second wedding of the weekend, as the Bression and Thompson families enthusiastically await their union. As the bride and groom dance the night away, Legacy Weddings will sigh a big sigh of contentedness and perhaps wipe away a tear when we remember all the beautiful dresses and heart-felt vows we experienced over the weekend. We can’t wait until Tuesday when we get to share pictures of the weddings of this weekend!

As always, we  offer fervent congratulations to the newlyweds, and most sincerely wish them a lifetime of happiness with each other!

Weekend Weddings Update

April 23rd, 2013

It was a beautiful weekend here at Lake Lanier Islands, and we played host to four lovely brides and their charming grooms. Friday saw Morganne Williams and Ali Shigri tie the knot, and while the weather was a bit gloomy, Pine Isle Center withstood the rain like a devoted guardian of love.

Charming Pine Isle Center

By Saturday morning the weather had cleared up, and Julie Turner and Trey Constantine articulated their love at stunning Legacy Pointe venue, and Cynthia Maxwell and Mark Coles exchanged their vows at scenic Pine Isle Pointe.

Picturesque Pine Isle Pointe

Lovely Legacy Pointe

We experienced a bit of astonishing excitement at Cynthia and Mark’s wedding, as the happy occasion was enhanced by a new engagement! We are very pleased and proud to congratulate all three newlyweds!

In addition to these gorgeous weddings, Lake Lanier Islands Resort also hosted Ashleigh Best and Brian Morgan as Windows Restaurant entertained their charming dinner rehearsal.

The quaint Windows Restaurant

All in all, it was a great weekend for Legacy Weddings, and we can’t wait to share next weekend’s big events with you on Thursday!

The Legacy Weddings Staff Hits the Trail

November 2nd, 2012

Earlier this week, our staff here at Legacy Weddings was invited to go on a trail ride courtesy of The Stables Equestrian Center at Lake Lanier Islands Resort. Obviously, we agreed and then hit the great & winding lakeside trails.
